Check out the latest paper written based on the r u NbS programme: “Costing Nature-Based vs. Grey Solutions for Water Management in Nairobi”
A new publication titled "Costing of Nature-Based and Grey Solutions for Water Management: Case Studies in Nairobi" is now available as part of a special issue on Nature-based Solutions in the Civil Engineer Journal.
Emerging from the r u NbS programme, this insightful paper examines the costs of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) compared to traditional "grey" infrastructure in two informal settlements in Nairobi. Using Comparative Life Cycle Costing (LCC) and Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA), it provides critical insights into the financial and co-benefits of these approaches.
This publication addresses a significant gap in urban African climate adaptation literature, offering valuable information for policymakers, practitioners, and researchers seeking sustainable solutions.
